Cresent Promotes Cash to New VP Post

Cresent Fine Furniture, a supplier of solid wood bedroom and casual dining furniture, has named John Cash vice president of sales and marketing as part of its long-term strategy to increase revenue and develop new retail partnerships.

Most recently, Cash was the national sales manager for the company. With more than 30 years of experience in the home furnishings industry, he joined Cresent’s former retail division in 2005. The parent company named him national sales manager in 2008, where he has played a critical role managing its key accounts and improving Cresent’s sales presentations and point-of-purchase materials.

In his new role, Cash will focus on managing the company’s sales team and developing innovative and customer-driven marketing tools. He reports to Taylor Condra, president and chief operating officer and Joseph Condra, CEO.

“John’s unparalleled range of experience in both retail and distribution make him the ideal fit to lead the Cresent sales team into our next phase of growth,” Condra said. “His industry knowledge, sales prowess and exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships will continue to serve our customers, and our company, well.”

Joseph Condra added, “In particular, John’s many years of retail experience add value on the merchandising and product development side of the business, which is in keeping with our focus on being a design-driven, customer-focused company.”

Prior to joining Cresent in 2005, Cash was the manager of the Sofa Connection/Sofa Express retail chain in Goodlettsville, Tenn., where he supervised full-line upholstery and outlet stores. While there, he managed operations, sales and customer service and oversaw marketing strategies for locations across the Southeast.

Cash’s career in the furniture industry began in 1984 when he joined Rhodes Furniture in Charleston, S.C. During his tenure, he climbed the ranks to area manager before leaving the retailer in 2002.

“I’m honored by Cresent’s confidence in me,” Cash said. “I look forward to building on our strong sales foundation to maintain the company’s growth trajectory. We have both an amazing customer base and a super history, and I plan to add to that legacy.”
