Report: Ashley Furniture, Hanjin Shipping Tangle in Bankruptcy Court

Ashley Furniture told a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge last week that shipping line Hanjin, which recently filed for bankruptcy protection, is refusing to release many of its containers, and said it has had to pick up other containers that were delivered to the wrong ports.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Ashley is seeking more than $1 million in damages to cover expenses incurred while securing the misplaced containers.
Hanjin’s lawyer said the shipper is holding onto the containers because it hasn’t been paid by Ashley.
