Symbol Mattress Appoints New Sales Exec in Florida

Mattress producer, Symbol Mattress has appointed Tony Rodriguez to the new position of senior account representative for the state of Florida, announced Nick Hrkman, National Sales Manager for Symbol Mattress.
In his new post, Rodriguez joins the Symbol team selling Englander-branded bedding throughout Florida and will report to Mike Brown, Symbol Regional Sales Manager for the Southeast. Symbol is a licensee of Englander Sleep Products.
“We’re thrilled to have someone with Tony’s level of expertise in the bedding industry,” Hrkman said. “His passion, knowledge, character and enthusiasm will be instrumental in helping our retail partners grow their businesses.”
“We’ll be adding several other sales executives over the coming weeks to keep pace with our growth and development.”
Before joining Symbol on Aug. 1, Rodriguez was a regional account and business development manager for Norfolk, Va.-based Paramount Sleep, which he joined in 2014.
In prior years his industry wholesale and retail experience included his work as an account manager for Spring Air from 2001 to 2008 and his posts as an assistant general manager and general manager of Haverty’s Furniture from 1995-2001.
Rodriquez, who is a former U.S. Marine and currently serves as a reserve deputy sheriff, will continue to be based in St. Johns, Fla.
