Dallas Market Center Debuts Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards

Dallas Market Center, the leading wholesale marketplace in North America connecting retailers and interior designers with top manufacturers in home décor, furniture, gifts, lighting and fashion has announced the first annual Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards sponsored by Gourmet Insider to be held at Dallas Market Center during the Total Home & Gift Market, January 18-24, 2017.

According to Cindy Morris, President and CEO of Dallas Market Center, “Dallas Market Center is home to some of the most prominent and respected names in the housewares industry.”  She continued, “Recognizing products that are innovative, stylish and exceedingly functional is tremendously important to the Market Center. We have one of the fastest growing housewares marketplaces in the country and we are privileged to share these products with our buyers.”

Over the past two years housewares resources in Dallas have grown by more than 50 percent, including new and expanded corporate showrooms, manufacturer rep’s showrooms and shared showroom space.

The Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards will present awards to recipients in nine categories. A special Best in Class award will be selected from among the category recipients. The award categories include:

Kitchen Tools & Gadgets

Serveware

Cutlery

Barware

Cookbooks/Publishing

Kitchen Textiles

Beverageware

Following the success of the Gourmet Gold Awards, which recognizes the best in specialty food each June, the Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards have been established to recognize products in the housewares industry.

“Gourmet Insider is pleased to sponsor the Gourmet Gold Awards program, which spotlights the growing array of breakthrough gourmet housewares presented at the Dallas Market Center,” Peter Giannetti, Editor-In-Chief of Gourmet Insider, said. “Participating in the Gourmet Gold Awards program is an effective way for vendors at the market to amplify awareness of their creative efforts to bring exciting new products to their retailers and consumers.”

Call for entrees will begin October 1, 2016 and the award ceremony will be held January 19, 2017.
