Pleasant Mattress Offer Relief To California Fire Victims

California based independent, family-owned mattress supplier in the Western United States, Pleasant Mattress has donated 16 mattresses to the victims who lost their homes in the Erskine Fire near Lake Isabella, California that burned more than 60,000 acres, killed two people and destroyed more than 280 homes in July.

Pleasant Mattress made the donation through The Furniture Store and Mattress Center in Lake Isabella, which is coordinating the effort with God’s Storehouse of the Kern River Valley, an emergency food distribution program in Weldon, California.

“Supporting our community is part of our mission at Pleasant Mattress. I am thankful we are able to contribute one small part to help rebuild the lives that have been impacted,” said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO of Pleasant Mattress.

David and Robin Pontius, owners of The Furniture Store and Mattress Center, share Morgenstern’s concern for their neighbors. “When any community experiences this kind of tragedy, it’s up to all of us to aid in any way we can,” said David Pontius. “It’s an honor to be part of this effort.”

Formerly Cannon Sleep Products, Pleasant Mattress has been in business since 1959 when it was founded as the Pleasant Bag Co and produces traditional mattresses, specialty sleep products and futons and is a licensee and manufacturer of the Spring Air brand.
