Second Generation at the Helm: Jeff Bader Named CEO of OMI

The second generation is taking the reins at Organic Mattresses, Inc. (OMI), manufacturer of the nation’s number one organic mattresses under the Organicpedic™ brand, as Jeff Bader has been named Chief Executive Officer.

Founder and father to Jeff, Walt Bader assumes the role of chairman.

Jeff Bader, an entrepreneur like Walt, has an extensive background in global trade, logistics and international freight. He joins OMI from his position as Executive Vice President and CIO with Miami-based Freight Logistics, a worldwide transportation and logistics-solutions provider he helped found in 2001.

“Jeff’s incredible entrepreneurial spirit and technical prowess will undoubtedly shepherd OMI through its next stages of growth,” Walt Bader said. “I look forward to having him on our executive team, and to have the opportunity to work closely with him in implementing new and exciting strategies for OMI.”

The younger Bader has been a member of the OMI board since 2011 and is an active member in a number of logistics organizations including Warehousing Education and Research Council and the International Warehouse Logistics Association.

“I am excited by the opportunities that lie ahead for OMI,” Jeff Bader said. “As the true leader in the organic sleep products category, the future is bright for OMI as more and more consumers turn toward organics for healthy sleep. I’m eager to execute smart logistics and warehousing schematics into our business model to improve upon our efficiencies.”

OMI is a full-circle environmental company dedicated to supporting America’s organic and sustainable farmers. OMI was the first company to achieve USDA “Certified Organic” status for a complex textile (mattress). It was the first company to challenge the CPSC and proved that its products could pass flammability regulations without fire barriers or suppressants; the first to develop a method of sanitizing certified organic raw materials; and the first company to use certified organic 100 percent natural latex cores in its products.

OMI’s handmade custom organic mattresses are manufactured in Northern California in the first and only large-scale Eco-Factory™ dedicated to the manufacturing of certified organic products. OMI mattresses qualify under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s LEEDs indoor air-quality program.
