A unique roundtable session, titled “Non-Profit Retail: Navigating the Challenges and Opportunities,” will take place Tuesday, August 2, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., in Building C.
“Las Vegas Market is extremely excited to engineer the gathering of these three top associations and their members to address critical issues impacting non-profit retailing,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is committed to supporting industry growth by fostering communication about crucial industry concerns.”
This special retail roundtable session boasts a star-studded lineup of some of the brightest minds in non-profit retailing. Moderator Shelley Stephens of South Pasadena, CA-based Shelley Stephens + Associates, will lead lively, wide-ranging discussions on a diverse array of vital topics.
According to Stephens, “I keep hearing museum store managers talking about the Las Vegas Market because it offers them fresh, new and interesting products across all categories. A seminar tailored to museum store – and other non-profit retail – needs, where managers can get answers to their questions, network with their peers and learn best practices, adds even more value to this wonderful Market.”
Each of the three associations represents a unique and thriving non-profit retail segment. The Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP) encompasses 1,200+ hospital gift shop buyers, managers and director of volunteer services nationwide. It is a professional membership group of the American Hospital Association, which is the premier professional membership society for health care volunteer services, retail operations and related support services disciplines. The Museum Store Association (MSA) is a nonprofit, international association dedicated to advancing the success of non-profit retail professionals and non-profit institutions. Now it its 60th year, MSA boasts 900 institutional and individual buyer members nationwide, including botanical gardens, children’s museums, art museums, science museums, historical societies and more.
The Zoo & Aquarium Buyers Group (ZAG) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization for 330 merchandise buyers from zoos, aquariums, theme parks, nature centers and other wildlife facilities, institutions and attractions across the United States.
Participation in the roundtable session is free, and limited to the first 80 participants. To register, visit: http://bit.ly/1TWqOcZ
