Herman’s Furniture & Design Celebrates Grand Opening

After six months of renovations, Herman’s Furniture & Design announced their new store in Sandusky, Ohio is now open.

Since 1947, Herman’s Furniture has been a fixture on Cleveland Road in Sandusky. But, when a realtor showed Herman’s manager, Joe Dandurand, the building behind the Sandusky Mall that formerly housed a movie theater, Joe saw nothing but possibilities.

“The minute I walked in, I completely saw the potential.” Dandurand said.

The creativity of the Herman’s design team is evident in the amazing transformation that has taken place on the inside and outside of Herman’s new store. The much-improved displays are more cohesive and are sure to inspire.

Dandurand explained that they “wanted to get away from just cramming furniture into small areas (like they did at the former store) and wanted to create the feeling of a lifestyle in a room so customers could better relate.”

To that end, the designers created partial walls to separate areas and essentially establish rooms. Each ‘room’ has details that differentiate it from another, such as decorative finishes and wainscoting.

Herman’s furniture remains a locally owned and operated, full-service furniture and design store and strives to offer quality furniture and accessories for every style and price point. The new store includes an expanded and improved La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio, and all American-made sofas.
