Symbol Mattress Promotes Clevenger, McQuiston

Richmond, Va.-based Symbol Mattress Co. has promoted two company executives to new leadership roles.
Its board of directors has promoted Ron Clevenger to CEO and Mike McQuistan to president. Clevenger has served as company president since 2012 and McQuistan joined Symbol in 2010 as executive vice president.
“Both men have been instrumental in the renewed growth of Symbol, and we have every confidence in their performance going forward,” said Charles Neal, chairman of Symbol Mattress Co.
In 2013, Symbol’s executive team developed a five-year plan to reposition the image of the company and brand.
“We set very aggressive goals and metrics to measure our progress,” Clevenger said. “With the addition of key personnel in sales, marketing, operations and finance, we are now ahead of that timeline and have seen tremendous success, particularly during the past year. Transitioning upper management was a critical component of the plan and we’re very excited about the future of Symbol and our growing partnerships with retailers.”
