The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) announced its winners of its Retailer of the Year award, which celebrates the outstanding achievements and progressive leadership of HFA’s home furnishings retailers.
David and Joey Gunn, the father and son who run Knight Furniture in Sherman, Texas, are the HFA Retailers of the Year in the category of businesses with a sales volume under $10 million. Knight Furniture’s customers have named the retailer the “Best Place to Buy Furniture” for the past 10 years.
C.S. Wo & Sons in Honolulu, Hawaii is the HFA Retailer of the Year in the category of businesses with a sales volume of more than $10 million. Michael Wo represents a third-generation family that has grown its operations to a retail empire since his grandfather started it in 1909. Its stores include C.S. Wo & Sons, HomeWorld Furniture, SlumberWorld, Ashley HomeStore and Red Knot.
The Gunns and Wos will be recognized at HFA’s 2016 Retailer of the Year awards gala on May 22 at HFA’s annual networking conference in Long Beach, Calif.
“Congratulations to David, Joey and Michael,” said Sharron Bradley, CEO of HFA. “We had a record number of nominees this year, and all are exceptional retailers. We’re thrilled to be recognizing these two hard-working, outstanding families with this year’s award. Both have been long members of the association and are the epitome of excellent retailers.”
HFA members in good standing were nominated by members of the home furnishings industry based on their exemplary service to the industry and to their communities and for providing an exceptional customer experience in their store.
