Furniture Classics Celebrates 25 Years

Accent furniture specialist Furniture Classics is marking its 25th anniversary during this spring’s High Point Market.

To celebrate, the company has planned a number of events and specials planned to commemorate the milestone.

Founded in 1999 by current CEO Doug Ricks, Furniture Classics was a pioneer in solid mahogany English reproduction furniture from Indonesia. According to Ricks, the company was “founded with a desire to provide quality furniture at highly competitive pricing, a philosophy we stand by to this very day.”

In 2002, Ricks’ son Michael Ricks left the legal profession to join the family business. After a number of years learning all aspects of the business, from unloading containers to making deliveries to customers, Michael Ricks was named president, a title he holds today.

“Over the course of the past 25 years, Furniture Classics has continued to evolve by expanding manufacturing across Asia, consolidating our distribution center and offices, and offering a broad selection of product that covers a wide range of styles and designs,” said Michael Ricks. “Our dedication and strong relationships with our customers, sales representatives and employees are our number one priority each and every day.”

Furniture Classics has permanent showrooms in High Point at 2401 Showplace and in Atlanta and Americas Mart—space 13-F-11—along with a 200,000-square-foot distribution center in Norfolk, Va. In addition to the anniversary specials being offered during market, Furniture Classics will be hosting a reception Monday evening in its showroom to celebrate.
