Designer Jonathan Adler has teamed with children’s brand Fisher-Price as the company’s creative director.
The appointment is in sync with Fisher-Price’s strategy to increase its appeal to millennial parents.
“Fisher-Price is an iconic and beloved global brand and it has been a dream to collaborate with them,” Adler said. “My goal is to marry modern design with the brand’s expertise in early childhood development. Babies – and parents – deserve baby gear and toys as stylish as they are.”
Under the multi-year agreement, Adler will consult on style direction for the company with Fisher-Price’s internal designers and external product partners for goods designed for children infant through 5 years old. His work will be introduced this fall in baby gear, newborn toys, crib bedding, nursery décor and infant apparel.
“Jonathan’s influence will bring a modern sensibility to our iconic design,” said Jean McKenzie, executive vice president of Fisher-Price Global Brands. “While staying true to what we‘ve always stood for– enriching developmental play, quality and safety – we are contemporizing form, function and style to write a new chapter in our brand history.”
