IHFRA Elects Geoff Weed President

The International Home Furnishings Representatives Association (IHFRA) has elected Geoff Weed as its 78th president.

Weed is an active member of IHFRA’s Midwest Chapter, who began his furniture career in 1997 by joining his father-in-law’s family business in Chicago. 

For the past 19 years, he has represented Ashley Furniture in Chicago and surrounding areas. During his time at Ashley, Weed received the National Advertising Excellence Award (2004), Market Penetration Recognition Award (2005), Salesman of the Year Award (2005), and Marketing Specialist of the Year Award (2006).  In addition, he was also involved in the Design Committee and the Continuous Quality Improvement Working Group at Ashley.

Weed is involved with the Midwest Furniture Club in Chicago, one of the largest IHFRA Chapters in the country. Weed served on the Midwest board from 2005 to 2010, and as Midwest chapter president from 2008 to 2010.

In 2008 and 2009, the Midwest Furniture Club received the Chapter of the Year Award from IHFRA. Weed was also honored as Dean of IHFRA in 2008, Midwest Service Recognition Award in 2010, and the Midwest Presidential Service Award in 2011.

In addition to Weed, the 2016-2017 slate of officers include: Frank Lorenzo, chairman of the board; Tommy Leflein, 1st vice president;  Al David, 2nd vice president, and; Jonathan Schulman, secretary/treasurer.

The IHFRA executive committee will be presented at the 21st Annual Furniture Industry Awards Gala Monday, April 18 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro, N.C.
