Supplier of wall art Picture Source for the residential and hospitality industries has acquired Somerset Studios

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new company, Picture Source Somerset, will combine both companies’ design teams.

“This acquisition is a great opportunity for Picture Source to grow our artwork selection, sales force and our retail and design outlets,” said John Hoyt, president of Picture Source Somerset.

Picture Source will relocate its design, production and shipping operations from Seattle to Somerset’s larger facility in Morganton, N.C. The corporate headquarters will remain in Seattle, but the nearly 38,000-square-foot facility in North Carolina will provide the company with several amenities.

Somerset’s facility also offers a dedicated hand painting department, a shiny-coated finish area and the capability to create a wide range of other creative finishes.

“We are excited to begin shipping our complete line from North Carolina by mid-April,” Hoyt said.

Picture Source Somerset will combine its curated collections of works from artists such as John Butler and “Nicol” Boettner to create an expansive array of artwork. The company also boasts an in-house team of artists that will design and paint larger canvases and other pieces. This team gives Picture Source Somerset the ability to design and market a wide variety of styles and looks, including vintage, natural, abstract, collage, urban and modern designs, as well as providing custom colors, applications and framing options.

John Hoyt will serve as the combined company’s president.  Steve West, former president of Somerset Studios, will take on the role of operations manager and become a leader and significant contributor to the design team.

“Picture Source and Somerset are very similar in their design philosophy and in how much we value and care for our customers,” West said. “I have no doubt our new venture will continue those important traditions while allowing us to take a significant step forward in capturing a major share of the marketplace.”
