Durham Furniture Redesigns Website

Case goods supplier Durham Furniture has redesigned its website with new features, improved capabilities and maximized performance to provide customers easy access to product information.

The website redesign is the first step in a strategic plan being implemented by the new management team.

“Our website is now fully optimized for all the devices our customers are using today to access our site, which offers them increased convenience,” said Luke Simpson, president and CEO. “Users can search for furniture by dimension, fabric and finish, in order to narrow the list of potential pieces that suit their specific needs. Visitors can also search the extensive selection of solid wood furniture by collection, style and product category. Users can also search for furniture by dimensions in order to narrow the list of potential pieces that suit their specific needs.”

The site’s design is clean and easy to read, said Amanda McQueen, marketing and sales support manager, adding that the product images “illustrate the inherent beauty and quality of solid wood furniture crafted in North America.

“Our social media buttons also make it convenient for consumers to post products they like to Facebook, Pinterest and other platforms that they enjoy using,” she said.

Buttons that allow for e-mailing, printing and marking favorites make it simple for customers to save items in their personal user account, to e-mail pictures or to print a copy of a product photograph. A Dealer Locator search function sends users to the nearest retailer and drives consumer traffic to Durham dealers.

The “About Us” page tells the Durham story through a gallery of historic and entertaining photos that date back to the 1920s, showing the development of the company, its employees and its manufacturing facilities.

VanNoppen Marketing in Morganton, N.C., designed the site to make visiting Durham online a great experience.

“The new website is the first step in a larger strategic plan that will unfold in the coming months to promote our position in the marketplace as a leading solid wood furniture producer in North America,” Simpson said. “It is an integral element to create demand for Durham Furniture products and to direct consumers to dealer stores.”
