Bassett Declares Dividend, Names Spilman Chairman

The dividend is payable May 27 to shareholders of record at the close of business May 13.

In addition to the dividend announcement, Bassett named the following board appointments. 

Robert H. Spilman Jr. was named chairman, succeeding Paul Fulton. Spilman has been the company’s CEO since 2000.

Fulton was named chairman emeritus. He had been chairman from 1997, and had been Bassett’s CEO from 1997 until 2000.

Kristina Cashman was named audit committee chair. She has been a director and has been on the audit committee since 2007. Cashman succeeds William C. Warden Jr. as the audit committee chair.

Warden has been named lead independent director. He has been on the board since 2004.
