Austin’s Couch Potatoes Joins Furniture First

Brothers Brian Morgan and Travis Morgan opened the store with their friend and business partner Dan Anthony in 2010. 

Austin’s Couch Potatoes now has two location, and a third location is planned to open later this year. The partners combine a no frills, low price strategy with an irreverent sense of fun. Children accompanying their parents to the store are distracted by large galvanized tubs of Mr. Potato Head spuds and parts that they can play with while their parents shop.

The store became a roadside attraction in 2014 after the owners commissioned local artists to build a 34-foot-by-22-foot tall spuds donning brightly colored hats and sneakers sitting on a giant green sofa outside the store.
