Home Furnishings Association Names 2016 Officers

“I want to continue to push our name out there and be a forceful presence—not just with other retailers, but to the industry as a whole,” Child said. “This association has much to contribute to all sides of the industry. I really think we’ve got a strong association, but I also think there’s room to grow and have more of an impact. I want to help lead that growth.”
In addition to Child, the association’s executive committee officers are: Marty Cramer, of Cramer’s Home Furnishings, Ellensburg, Wash., as chairman; president elect Steve Kidder of Vermont Furniture Galleries, Williston, Vt.; vice president Jim Fee of Stoney Creek Furniture, Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada; and secretary/treasurer Sherry Sheely of Sheely's Furniture & Appliance, North Lima, Ohio.
"There are some amazing leaders joining the Home Furnishings Association’s board this year,” said Sharron Bradley, CEO of HFA. “We are looking forward to using our collective knowledge and expertise across the industry to drive awareness, increase HFA’s influence and advance our mission. The individuals on our executive committee bring a unique perspective and unparalleled industry expertise that will allow us to navigate the changing business landscape.”
Newly elected to the HFA board were; Edward Massood, Thomasville Home Furnishings, Edison N.J.; Jeff Selik, Hillsdale Furniture, Bloomfield, Mich.; and Mike Shuel, Meredith Furniture Inc., Yakima, Wash.; each will serve a three-year term. Board members elected to the executive committee are: Chris Sanders of Everton Mattress; Marc Schewel, Schewel Furniture, Lynchburg, Va., and; David Lively, The Lively Merchant each serving a second term. David Beckmann, Emerald Home Furnishings, and Jesus Capo, El Dorado Furniture, Opa Locka, Fla., were elected to the executive committee for the first time.
