Full line furniture supplier Aico has named Peggie Galvin director of upholstery.
Galvin will work with and report to Laurie Phillips, vice president of upholstery for the company.
Prior to joining Aico, Galvin was a senior buyer with Anna’s Linens. Before Anna’s Linens, she was with Strouds and Intercontinental Art in merchandising positions.
“For the past several years we have focused heavily on growing our upholstery division and I feel confident that Peggie’s extensive retail background will be a true asset for the department and for the company,” said Michael Amini, CEO. “Aside from her retail experience, Peggie has a keen grasp of design and understands how to merchandise fabrics, color and style. Two highly skilled veterans like Laurie and Peggie will not only strengthen our position as a leader in upholstery, but will help us to sell a complete package of home furnishings to our customers.”
Martin Ploy, president of Aico, said the company’s business model has shifted toward becoming a “one-stop shopping experience …” Ploy said the company’s ability to find the right people to fill positions has propelled the company to allow people to “furnish your entire home with the Michael Amini brand. We are confident Peggie will be a great fit as we continue to grow the Michael Amini brand.”
