FastFact: High Income Renters on the Rise

In the last five years, the number of renters in the marketplace has increased, and the growth isn’t coming from the lower income bracket.
Households with income more than $100,000 have been migrating slowly away from homeownership to apartment dwelling. In 2009, 6.9 percent of renter occupied housing consisted of those making more than $100,000. In 2014, that figure was up to 10.1 percent.
