2016 by in Executive Changes, Industry
In his new position, Shoemaker reports to Jin Hoe Yeoh, King Koil chairman.
Shoemaker began serving as executive vice president and COO of the company shortly after its acquisition by Yeoh in February.
A veteran of the mattress industry, Shoemaker first joined King Koil in 2009 as vice president of product development and served in several key executive posts over the years involving marketing, merchandising and international business development.
“The 2016 year presents us with many challenges and opportunities,” Yeoh said. “We need to work strategically and aggressively to achieve the results we want, and Owen has the knowledge and experience to lead us in that process. I’m very pleased to announce Owen’s appointment, and we all look forward to his leadership skills and valuable guidance in the New Year.”
Shoemaker has held positions in bedding retail management, operations, sales, product development and branding prior to joining King Koil.
“Our company’s future is linked to greater innovation, quality and a new efficiency based on economies of scale,” Shoemaker said. “Millions sleep on King Koil beds today and we can be found in nearly 100 countries. As a result, we have an in-depth understanding of ‘comfort by culture,’ which ultimately helps us build a better range of sleep systems for American and international consumers. My years with King Koil have been very rewarding. I anticipate bringing new talent to the company and extending its reach so that we can successfully achieve our strategic objectives.”
