Mattress Firm, Sleepy’s Deal to Close Feb. 3

The waiting period as required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust act expired Monday. The deal should close as noted, pending any additional regulatory approvals.
Mattress Firm announced plans to buy Sleepy’s in a $780 million deal in November. The acquisition will combine the two largest bedding retailers in the U.S.
Mattress firm currently holds more than 2,400 company-operated and franchised stores across 41 states. Sleepy's is a privately-owned fourth-generation company with more than 1,050 retail locations in 17 states and the District of Columbia, spanning from Maine to South Carolina.
