FastFact: Housing Shifts from Owners to Renters

The shift in housing status has changed over the last five years with renters outpacing home owners, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
That said, the household mix of renters and owners hasn’t change much at all since 2009.
Married couples make up the majority of home owners accounting for 60 percent in 2014. More than 13 percent of owned homes are held by single people.
