Herman Miller Looks to Grow DWR
The owner of Design Within Reach is looking to expand the retailer’s footprint to more than 40 locations.
Herman Miller, which bought the contemporary retail chain in 2014, reported second quarter net income of $34.7 million and net sales of $580.4 million for the period ended Nov. 28.
DWR currently operates 32 locations, 13 of them as 13 large format studios.
CEO Brian Walker told analysts in a conference call that the company is looking to increase the number of large studios to the “mid 40s”. Plans call for adding or converting six studios a year to the new format.
