Ethan Allen Kicks off City of Hope Fundraising

Home furnishings brand Ethan Allen (NYSE: ETH) has partnered with City of Hope to raise funds that support medical research for patients worldwide.

From now through April 30, Ethan Allen will match total donations, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000, made to City of Hope through participating Ethan Allen Design Centers or directly to the cancer center online.

"There is nothing more gratifying than making a difference in people's lives," said Farooq Kathwari, Ethan Allen chairman, president and CEO. "Ethan Allen has a profound appreciation for City of Hope's mission, and we are proud to support the institution’s high-quality patient care as well as the innovative medical research that benefits millions of people worldwide."

Kathwari and Richard Feng, CEO of Markor Home Furnishings, Ethan Allen’s retail partner in China, will be honored at the Spirit of Life Award Dinner April 17, in Greensboro, N.C.

Founded in 1913, City of Hope is a pioneer in the field of bone marrow transplantation and genetics, and with the help of dedicated foundations, corporations, and philanthropists, has given hope to millions of patients and their families around the world. One of its biggest supporters for the last 50 years and counting is City of Hope's International Home Furnishings Industry (IHFI), of which Ethan Allen is a member. As of 2015, IHFI has raised more than $52 million to fund innovative medical research and quality patient care at City of Hope.

“City of Hope is extremely grateful for the longstanding commitment of Farooq Kathwari and Ethan Allen and for their ongoing support as part of the International Home Furnishings Industry,” said Robert  Stone, City of Hope president and CEO. “This support is vital to our ability to speed breakthrough discoveries into new therapies for patients worldwide. Together, we are changing the future of health.”
