The Wrap It Up event, held at Stoney Creek’s flagship location along with co-sponsors McKeil Marine, 50 Point Market and Holland Park Garden Gallery.
More than 200 people participated and raised $8,900 for the Hamilton Food Share through ticket sales, silent auction and raffle tickets. Hamilton Food Share’s buying power of every $1 generates $5 worth of food taking the event’s total buy power to $44,500 for the community.
The inaugural Wrap it Up event was part one-of-a-kind shopping, part silent auction and part social gathering. Seven decorated Christmas trees were up auctioned and each one was decorated by local designers including Natalie Sexton of Sexton in the City; Carol Fines of Carol Can Décor with Cents; Tara Crugnale of Dundas shop Dolce Kimera; Patricia Knebel of Furnishings for Small Spaces, and; interior designer Brenda Cox, Marquis Dreamstore and Stoney Creek Furniture. The trees were donated by Holland Park Garden Gallery, a local nursery with Dundas and Burlington locations.
Local artisans showcased ideas for holiday gift giving including handmade jewelry, fashion, home décor, gourmet food baskets, Christmas décor and more.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the event turn-out and support from our guests. It’s such a great feeling to be able to give back to our community,” said Jim Fee. “With ‘Wrap it up’ being such a success, we plan to make this an annual tradition here at Stoney Creek Furniture.”
Founded in 1990, the Hamilton community has supported Hamilton Food Share in its hunger relief activities for 25 years. Every dollar donated raises $5 worth of food, thanks to the organization’s partners.
