ASID Names Strategic Adviser

Susan Wiggins has been named senior strategic adviser for the American Society of Interior Designers effective Jan. 4. Wiggins is the current CEO of the Interior Designers of Canada

In her new role, Wiggins will provide expertise to ASID CEO Randy Fiser and the ASID leadership team in implementing the strategic direction of programs and services while improving the organization’s value proposition and impact on the industry and profession. The role will be effective for the next two years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Susan as Senior Strategic Adviser,” Fiser said. “When I became CEO of ASID almost four years ago, Susan Wiggins was one of the first industry leaders I reached out to. Since then, ASID and IDC have worked together on a number of initiatives to strengthen the interior design profession throughout North America. Most recently, the two organizations partnered to deliver the first Impact Summit, held this past August in Lake Nona, Florida, which brought together leaders from business, government and nonprofit sectors to seek solutions for health and wellness challenges in the built-environment. ASID and IDC have also supported one another on key programming aimed at students and emerging professionals.”

Wiggins brings more than 30 years of administration and management experience and has worked for the interior design profession in Canada for the past 15 years, serving as CEO of IDC since 2010. Prior to her current role, she was the executive director of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO).

“I’m excited to get to work as Senior Strategic Adviser at ASID,” Wiggins said. “This is a time of growth and opportunity for ASID and for the broader industry, and I can’t wait to work with the ASID leadership team to continue to advance the interior design profession and demonstrate how design is transforming lives. I’m extremely grateful for my time supporting the interior design profession in Canada and I look forward to putting my experience to use at ASID.”
