Rob Rosenberg Named President of PFP

2015 by in Executive Changes, Industry
Rosenberg succeeds his grandfather and co-founder of the company Gene Rosenberg in the position. Gene Rosenberg and Paul Cohen started PFP.
“Fifty three years is long enough,” said Gene Rosenberg. “It’s time to turn over the reins to a new generation of leadership. Rob’s diverse experience in the industry, as well as his leadership and personal style will continue the success of our company and mission.”
Rob Rosenberg started his furniture career at Bob’s Discount Furniture, the retail operation co-founded by Gene Rosenberg. After graduating from college, Rob Rosenberg joined PFP, where he initially worked as a sales associate. In 2005, Rosenberg was promoted to a management position with the company, managing liquidation, retirement, moving sales and other promotional events for the company.
“Rob succeeded in every event he was involved with, no matter the challenge,” said Roy Hester, senior vice president of PFP. “He excelled in generating sales and profits for our clients, who felt he embodied their core values and as a result, most have stayed in touch with him to this day.”
Rosenberg went on to lead his team through some of the largest furniture store liquidations, including Rhodes, Levitz, Modernage, Huffman-Koos and Homestead House. He also lead the liquidations of Mazers Home Store, Furniture Warehouse and Sussan’s Furniture.
In addition to his success as an event coordinator, Rosenberg has contributed to several initiatives for the company, including a proprietary web portal for the PFP team and clients. Rosenberg has also been involved in the company’s Internet and advertising initiatives.
Tom Liddell, PFP senior vice president, said the company provides a number of services for its clients, including website development, web optimization, social media management and more.
“With today’s fragmented advertising, all retailers know the importance of this, but with time constraints and required knowledge of the various platforms and technology, few people have the experience or time to do it correctly and completely,” Liddell said. “Rob’s role has been essential in leading, organizing, training and modernizing PFP to meet these challenges and opportunities.”
Founders Gene Rosenberg and Cohen will remain active in the company, but will leave day-to-day management and direction to the senior management team under Rob Rosenberg’s direction.
“I’m very excited about what the future holds for PFP,” he said. “We have the best team in the industry and I look forward to maintaining the traditions of hard work, integrity and respect for our clients. One of many things Gene has taught me is, ‘we aren’t happy, unless our clients are happy.’ I’m ready to lead PFP into the future and its new phase of growth and innovation.”
