China Grants Mallory Alexander Class A License

Mallory Alexander International Logistics has received a Class A forwarder's license by the government of China for operations in Shanghai.

The license also facilitates the expansion of Mallory Alexander in Asia, now known as Mallory Alexander (Asia-Pacific) Limited.

Under the license, Mallory Alexander can expand its service offerings to Chinese and global customers. It also allows the company to provide Asia Pacific logistics services including: preparing ocean and air bills of lading; booking ocean cargo; consolidating ocean and air shipments; chartering ocean and aircraft vessels; providing China customs clearance services; scheduling inland truck deliveries; and warehousing.

“We have been operating in China for many years, but were only able to offer limited services,” said Tinamarie Newman, Mallory Alexander’s COO. “The Class A license was always our goal for service continuity and we are thrilled to be working with the country of China. We are expanding staff and will be adding office locations. That will help us continue to grow in the market, and better position Mallory Alexander as a provider of complete supply chain services to our global customers.”

Mallory Alexander has been bonded with the Chinese Ministry of Communications for several years, which has allowed it—as a foreign NVOCC—to issue its own bill of lading. This is recognized by China for letters of credit, and can be issued for shipments to and from the country. Prior to receiving the Class A license, the company worked with licensed partners to facilitate some services. Those partners will continue to be part of Mallory Alexander’s global network.
