Tommy Mitchell Co. to Get Rising Star Award

Tommy Mitchell, most known for its handmade, intricate metal art, will be honored during the Jan. 22 gala at the Dallas Hilton Anatole. The Rising Star Award recognizes innovation and modern excellence demonstrated by a young growing home industry company selected by a committee of industry peers.

“The Tommy Mitchell Company embodies quality, detail and design elements that are key to longevity in the home design industry,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “We are recognizing the level of commitment they have to building the next level of quality craftsmanship in the industry.”

Creator and designer Tommy Mitchell, along with his team of artisans, hand make installations of copper, brass, steel, paint and gold leaf. With more than 20 years of experience as an artisan and art restorer, Mitchell is recognized for his tactile finishes and dedication to detail in his designs that are now available to the wholesale market. 

“It’s exciting to find a company that has such a great story and unique journey,” said Sharon Davis, executive director of ART. “From their first trade show to the acclaimed success of the company a few short years later, the ARTS Awards committee’s job was an easy one in naming Tommy Mitchell as the Rising Star.”

The ARTS Awards recognize top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers and sales representatives from across the world in 26 categories. The Academy of Achievement honor is awarded each year to recognize companies and/or individuals that have made significant contributions to the industry.
