Durham Furniture’s Dilworth to Retire

Gord Dilworth, president and CEO of bedroom supplier Durham Furniture will retire this month.

His retirement starts a leadership succession over the next six months. Upon retirement, Dilworth will become a director with the company. Luke Simpson, vice president of finance and administration, will succeed Dilworth as president and CEO.

"Gord Dilworth has been a very strong leader," said Larry Vollett, chairman of the board. "He has managed the company through challenging times and market transitions. During Gord's tenure, Durham has built a strong financial position, repaid all of its long-term debt and completely revitalized its product direction. The board is grateful for his contributions to the company and his distinguished tenure as CEO. We are also extremely pleased that Gord will continue to contribute his strategic perspective as he remains involved with Durham Furniture."

Dilworth has spent nearly 40 years in the furniture industry.

“It's been an honor to serve as president and CEO," Dilworth said. "Durham has been like a family to me, and I am privileged to work with the board and management during this period of transition."
