Furniture Insights: Furniture Orders Up 3%

The increase continues the trend of increased orders for the last 17 months.

Year-to-date, new orders are 5 percent ahead of the first eight months of last year and about 56 percent of reporting participants reported increased orders year-to-date.

August shipments increased 8 percent from August 2014.

“Admittedly, not all participants have participated at the same rate, but at least, according to our survey, the industry has performed pretty consistently through the last five-plus years,” wrote Ken Smith, audit partner with Smith Leonard.
