Urban Barn Launches Online Redesign via MarketLive

Canadian furniture retailer Urban Barn has redesigned its online retail operations through Petaluma, Calif.-based MarketLive’s e-commerce software platform.

Urban Barn has 51 stores across Canada.

“Our main goal for Urban Barn, since we are an established retail brand, was to create an online store that maintains a consistent customer experience with our in-store brand,” said Nurez Khimji, CFO of Urban Barn Ltd. “MarketLive was our first choice in an e-commerce platform.”

Urban Barn opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1990.

“The technology deployment for Urban Barn is a textbook study in how retailers today can integrate their online and offline operations to make a seamless experience for shoppers,” said Ken Burke, founder and CEO of MarketLive. “As more shoppers are searching for their favorite brick-and-mortar brands online, they are expecting their websites to work seamlessly. Retailers need to build the technology to leverage the enormous digital commerce opportunity while leveraging their existing brick-and-mortar IT systems.”
