STORIS Updates 9.6 Program

Retail technology supplier STORIS introduced its 9.6 release this month, marking its second software package this year.

The release is part of their the company’s development timeline strategy to introduce a version of software with new features and enhancements every six months.

“STORIS is pushing the boundaries of our already unprecedented R&D program,” said Phil Pepper, director of application development. “Technology is changing more rapidly than ever before, and at STORIS we have aligned our resources to maintain a competitive pace.”

Some enhancements in 9.6 were developed in conjunction with Ashley Furniture HomeStores located in Dallas.

“Ashley Furniture HomeStores has a unique promotional strategy and now STORIS can successfully execute intricate promotional and pricing tactics,” said Frank Wilkes, who headed the application development.

Beta testing for these enhancements was completed by the Dufresne/Spencer Group.

The new application features discount enhancements that include advanced line item discounting, discount hierarchy configuration and promotion timetables. Retailers will be able to perform discounts including buy one get one, minimum eligibility requirements and group discounting by inventory formations. The program includes a feature that allows retailers to schedule automatic discounts to guarantee consistent and accurate discounts for consumers.

The 9.6 software has increased setting options across areas including sales person activity, commission levels, delivery, financing on orders, and warranties.

Financing was also a key area of focus in 9.6. The program now has settings for retailers to determine how their merchandise becomes eligible for certain financing plans.

“We are looking forward to seeing how these new selling features will help our retailers grow revenue and maintain inventory profitability,” Pepper said.
