Williams-Sonoma retail brand West Elm has named contract industry veteran James Cesario director of brand marketing for its West Elm Workspace division.
Cesario is responsible for all marketing activities including maintaining and monitoring sales, costs, profitability, market penetration/share, customer satisfaction and product line expansion.
West Elm introduced the 75-plus piece collection of office furniture at NeoCon earlier this year through a collaboration with modular office system designer Inscape.
“When we undertook the task of developing West Elm Workspace, we knew the person we would charge with directing the division would have to bring with them a deep knowledge of the contract market,” said jim Brett, West Elm president. “We believe James’ experience in this unique space will continue to strengthen West Elm Workspace’s position as a leading innovator of modern workplace solutions that suit today’s changing office culture.”
Prior to joining West Elm, Cesario held sales and marketing positions with Herman Miller, first as architecture and design sales manager for New York, most recently as marketing manager for the company’s materials category. He has also held business development roles with Fritz Hansen  and Luminaire.
