ART Names Robert Currey Academy of Achievement Honoree

Robert Currey of Currey & Co. has been named this year’s Academy of Achievement honoree by Dallas Market Center and the ARTs nominating committee.
“Robert Currey received an unprecedented number of nominations for Academy of Achievement this year from across the industry,” said Sharon Davis, executive director of ART said. “After such strong endorsement, the committee agreed that he was the obvious choice.”
Currey founded Garden Source Furnishings, now Currey & Co., in 1988 with the focus of creating and marketing classic garden furniture from the Winterthur Museum and the Smithsonian Institution. By the early 1990s the collection expanded to include lighting and a new focus for interior furnishings. Currey now focuses his time running a small sustainable market garden in Sparta, Ga.

The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, recognizes top manufacturers, retailers, product designers, interior designers and sales representatives from across the world in 26 different categories. The winners will be announced during a gala event on Friday, Jan. 22 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. The Academy of Achievement honor is awarded each year to recognize companies and/or individuals that have made significant contributions to the industry.
