Fashion Bed Group Names Sales, Marketing Executive
Fashion Bed Group has named Rob Newcombe senior vice president of sales and marketing.
In his new position, Newcombe will oversee sales activities for the Chicago-based Leggett & Platt business unit and will lead the development of new marketing capabilities. He officially joins the company Friday and will report to FBG President John J. Case.
“Combining the sales and marketing functions will allow us to meet our customers’ product needs and, as importantly, assist them in the sell-through of that product,” Case said. “Rob brings an impressive track record of experience and success to this position. He has effectively set the stage for long-term growth in multiple environments. His combination of strategic and tactical insight will be invaluable to FBG as we continue to drive our fashion and innovation competitive advantages.”
Most recently, Newcombe was with Microban International as as senior director of global products. Prior to that, he was vice president of sales and business development, as well as vice president of marketing at Vermont Castings. He also has held sales and marketing positions with Electrolux and Whirlpool.
“Rob has spent the bulk of his career in branded consumer products,” Case said. “His sales experience runs the gamut from independent retailers to big box and everything in between. He recognizes that selling into retail is only the first step, and that true success lies in merchandising ‘the last three feet’ of the customer journey. That insight will allow us to bring added value to our retail partners.”
