Jodlbauer Furniture Holds Inventory Sale After Closure

The inventory of two-store Jodlbauer Furniture of Elkton, Md., will be sold during a foreclosed inventory sale.

The sale is being managed by Planned Furniture Promotions.

Jodlbauer shuttered operations because of a slowed economy, changing consumer buying habits, increased competition and other factors, said Andrew Jodlbauer, current owner and grandson of the founder.

Jodlbauer has been owned and operated by three generations of Jodlbauers during its long history. The store was founded by Julius Jodlbauer Sr. in 1946.

John Jodlbauer, Andrew Jodlbauer’s uncle, recently retired after more than 50 years in the business. He had helped run the store with his brother, Julius Jr., after their father’s retirement.

“The Jodlbauer family sincerely wants to thank all of its loyal customers and dedicated employees,” said Andrew Jodlbauer in a release issued prior to the foreclosure. “We are grateful to have been involved in such a wonderful community for so many years.”
