The collections—Folklore and Fable—and a dozen of pillow designs will be shown during High Point Market in the company’s showroom at D320 IHFC.
With colorful patterns and jungle-like motifs, Blakeney uses contrasting textures throughout her rugs and pillows to create visual interest and textural base. She draws her inspiration from the classic designs of Morocco, as well as from the bright and vivacious artwork from the 1960s.
“When designing rooms, I don't think of rugs as just an accent piece, but as the foundation of the décor,” said Blakeney. “Designing my own collection means that I get to bring that ‘jungalicious’ flair that I’ve always admired to someone else’s space. I am passionate about spreading joy and design ideas, and absolutely love when people send me photos of their spaces that have been influenced by my ideas, by blog or my book.”
Blakeney is a designer, author and a blogger. Her bohemian aesthetic emerged out of her multicultural upbringing in Berkeley, Calif. The partnership with Loloi marks Blakeney’s first product collaboration in the home space.
Blakeney will be signing copies of her book, The New Bohemians, at 3:30 p.m., Sunday Oct. 18 in Loloi’s showroom.
