Havertys 3Q Sales Hit $209.9 Million
Havertys Furniture Co. (NYSE: HVT) reported third quarter sales of $209.9 million, a 5.7 percent increase from sales of $198.5 million in the third quarter last year.
Same-store sales for the quarter climbed 3 percent.
Sales for the first nine months of year were $589 million, a 6 percent increase compared to $555.4 million in the first nine months of 2014.
“Our average ticket continues to move upward, increasing 6.9 percent compared to last year’s third quarter,” said Clarence Smith, chairman, president and CEO. “This is being driven by continued growth in our custom order upholstery business and sales generated with the involvement of our in-home design team.”
Smith said the retailer has seen an uptick in sales of dining and bedroom, along with rugs and accessories.
“Sales growth has been good across our store footprint, except in Texas, where the lower oil prices have slowed the economy and where we have faced additional competition in the Dallas market for the last two quarters,” Smith said. “We have opened four new stores this year, including our new Fort Lauderdale, Fla., location in late August, and plan to expand to three new cities in 2016.”
The complete sales report is available online.
The retailer will release its 2015 third quarter report Wednesday, Oct. 28 after the market closes.
