CFMA Holds Its First Furniture Industry Social

The California Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (CFMA) hosted its first Furniture Industry Social at the American Legion Newport Beach in Newport Beach, Calif.

CFMA President Scott Sandberg presented the 2015 Manufacturer of the Year Award to long-time CFMA member Arcadia, a maker of fine furniture.

The company began in 1979 as a four-man operation in a 10,000-square-foot building in Gardena, Calif. It employs more than 320 people today and occupies a 200,000-square-foot space in La Palma, Calif.

Arcadia supports charities such as Common Thread for the Cure, which unites the home furnishings industry against breast cancer, Make-A-Wish Orange County Chapter, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and Orangewood Children’s Foundation.

CFMA member Move Loot, an online marketplace for buying and selling secondhand furniture, sponsored the Furniture Industry Social.
