Pennsylvania AG Settles with Furniture Sir-Plus

The Pennsylvania Attorney General has settled with a furniture retailer accused of taking money from consumers for purchases and then not delivering.
The lawsuit against Furniture Sir-Plus was filed in July.
Under the settlement, the company is to pay $75,000 in restitution to consumers who paid for goods but never received them. The suit also named Charles Lederman, Mark Finkelstein and Daniel Roberts as defendants.
The agreement also prohibits Lederman and Finkelstein from owning, managing or controlling a furniture business in Pennsylvania.
The lawsuit alleged that Furniture Sir-Plus suffered cash flow problems resulting in the closure of two of three locations. At that time, the company moved all leftover furniture to another store to be taken over by Daniel Roberts and his business, King Furniture Warehouse.
The new business maintained the same phone number, computer system for furniture orders from consumers, furniture and employees, yet failed to deliver the furniture to some former customers.
