La-Z-Boy Furniture Oregon Promotes 2

Tualatin, Ore.-based La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries has named a merchandise manager and an operations manager for its six stores.

Ronda Baker has been named merchandise manager, and Mark Hanne has been named operations manager.

In the newly created position, Hanne oversees product flow from the manufacturer to the warehouse and retail locations for all of the company’s locations. He is also be responsible managing all company facilities.  

“Mark is a tremendous asset to our organization and we are confident that with his experience and insights, he will continue to strengthen and streamline our company’s standard procedures,” said Brad Parker, president. “His production knowledge and attention to detail are invaluable.” 

Hanne most recently served as upholstery buyer for the company. He joined the retailer in 2006, starting as the assistant manager of the Tualatin, Ore., store before being named store manager. He was later named store manager of the Clackamas, Ore., location.   

Hanne has more than 15 years in furniture retailing including positions with Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, Bassett Furniture and Bombay Company. 

Prior working in retail, Hanne worked as an epidemiological specialist in Hawaii.     

In her position, Baker is responsible for selecting and staging the product at each of the company’s stores.

Baker joined the company in 1998, starting as an administrative assistant, and eventually moving into the role of inventory manager and later, assistant buyer, responsible for case goods, accessories and rugs. In her new position, she is also responsible for merchandising upholstered and leather furniture as well.

Prior to joining the retailer, Baker was a customer  service agent for Horizon Airlines. 

“Ronda contributes in every position, taking on and succeeding at every new challenge,” said Brad Parker, company president. “She has a tremendous vision for our products and stores, with a keen eye for what our customers like.”
