BrandSource Sets Special Events for Meeting

BrandSource kicks off its annual convention and expo Sunday and will host a number of special networking events for members during Las Vegas event.

The BrandSource Young Professionals Group, created  to meet the needs of members in their 20s and 30s, will host a noon luncheon Monday featuring guest speaker Kerry Lebensburger, president of sales for Ashley Furniture. Lebensburger will host an interactive session designed to boost problem-solving skills and encourage a group discussion about best sales practices.

The Young Professionals Group will re-assemble the next evening for a photo scavenger hunt focused on the sights of the Las Vegas Strip. Hosted by BrandSource and Electrolux, participants will break into groups and embark on an extensive but fast-paced photo hunt, with each team presenting their findings to the group at the end of the evening. The team completing the most challenges in the most creative way will win casino chips worth $500. An after-party will include a DJ, open bar and late night snacks.

On Tuesday morning, BrandSource will host its annual Women In Business breakfast designed to offer a forum for women to socialize, brainstorm ideas, discuss business issues and discover new opportunities for growth. Women in the appliance, electronics and home furnishings industries including finance, marketing, advertising, customer service and sales, are all welcome.

Nancy Friedman, founder and president of Telephone Doctor, is the guest speaker for the breakfast. As leader of the international customer service training company in St. Louis, Mo., Friedman has been recognized as an expert on customer service, communications, sales training and management and has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and CNN.

In addition to the breakfast, the Women In Business group will sponsor its first-ever Women’s Lounge during the convention. The lounge will offer a quiet environment in which to relax, catch up on work-related issues or have a beverage. The lounge will be located in the Sorrento Room at Caesars Palace and will be open Tuesday from noon until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Additional information about the conference is available online.
