Havertys Sets Dividend for 2 Share Classes

Atlanta-based furniture retailer Havertys (NYSE: HVT) (NYSE: HVT.A) has set a cash dividend for both share classes.

For the common stock, the company set a per share dividend of $0.10, and for the Class A common stock a per share rate of $0.095.

The move increases the quarterly dividend $0.02 per share, representing a 25 percent increase in the common stock’s quarterly rate.  The dividend is payable Friday, Sept. 11 to shareholders of record at the close of business Wednesday, Aug. 26.

“Our profitability allows us to continue to grow our business and increase our returns to our stockholders,” said Clarence Smith, chairman, president and CEO. “Havertys has paid a cash dividend in each year since 1935 and the new quarterly rate is the highest in our history.”
