Select Comfort 2Q Income Increases 30%

Specialty bedding retailer Select Comfort Corp. (NASDAQ: SCSS) reported net income of $11 million for the second quarter ended July 4, a 30 percent increase from net income of $8.48 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter climbed 17 percent to $275.3 million in the quarter compared to net sales of $234.8 million in the second quarter of last year.
Net income for the first half of the year hit $39.8 million, compared to $25.5 million in the first six months of last year. Net sales for the six-month period were $625 million compared to $511.2 million in the first half of last year.
