OMI Shakes Up Management Team

Bedding supplier Organic Mattresses is shifting its strategy and changing its management team.
Kurt Ling, CEO, and Steve Baumberger, senior vice president of sales, are no longer with the company. The two joined the company last summer.
Under the changes, Walt Bader, founder and chairman of the company, has returned as CEO.
Over the last year, the company had shifted some of its products to a moderate priced offering. OMI has decided to focus its product development and sales back to its traditional line of luxury, organic line including its Classic and 81 collections ranging in price from $3,795 to $10,995.
“Our most successful dealers were resistant to the change in strategy and were passionate that we stay focused on our core competency, luxury, organic products,” Bader said. “Our business has never been about the mass market, and after careful analysis we decided to return to our comfort zone.”
