Blueport Commerce Relaunches Furniture.com

Blueport Commerce, a provider of e-commerce technology and services for the retail furniture industry, has relaunched Furniture.com.

The upgraded website offers responsive design and a customer-centric user experience. Since the relaunch, conversion rate has nearly doubled compared to the same period last year, and revenue per visit has increased nearly 80 percent compared to the same period last year.

“In a category where seeing the product in person is so important but not always possible, the new Furniture.com puts furniture front and center with a significant emphasis on imagery and detail,” said Carl Prindle, president and CEO for Blueport Commerce.

Advanced predictive search with in-search thumbnail images and intuitive categorization and filtering capabilities help customers find the products they are looking for quickly. The account sign-in and checkout processes have also been simplified.

The website brings forward the most pertinent information to help shoppers make their purchase decisions, including precise delivery dates prominently displayed on the product detail page. Its mobile-first design approach lets customers have the same experience on their smart phone or tablet.

“Using data analytics and usability testing, we identified areas where customers were getting held up in the purchase process and addressed those friction points with changes to the site design,” said Vlada Rakhunov, e-commerce manager for Furniture.com. “Now checkout is easier and faster, increasing the likelihood for conversion.”

Blue Commerce marries a retailer’s brick-and-mortar infrastructure with its online furniture experience, technology, and marketing and sales solutions.
