Conn’s Opens Three Stores on Independence Day

Specialty home goods retailer Conn’s, Inc. (NASDAQ: CONN) held grand opening ceremonies for two Conn’s HomePlus stores in Charlotte and Gastonia, N.C., on July 4.

The 46,000-square-foot Charlotte store, located at 8709 JW Clay Blvd., is the second Conn’s location in the city and is expected to create 30 jobs. Meanwhile, the 43,000-square-foot Gastonia store at 197 New Hope Dr. has created 28 jobs. The company plans to open four additional stores in North Carolina this year, bringing its total to seven in state.

“Opening these new stores in Charlotte and Gastonia reflects the positive reception we’ve received in the area, and we are excited to deepen our roots in these great North Carolina communities,” said David Trahan, president of Conn’s retail division.

Conn’s also held a grand opening ceremony on July 4 for its second store in Memphis, Tenn. The 50,000-square-foot store at 3260 Austin Peay Hwy. has created 28 jobs and is the fourth Conn’s HomePlus store in Tennessee. The company plans to open another store in Tennessee in September.
