Jordan’s Furniture Helping Cradles to Crayons

All Jordan’s Furniture stores and its distribution center in Taunton, Mass., are accepting donations for new or like-new clothes and shoes for children ages infant to 12 years old for Cradles to Crayons “Ready for School” program.

Donations will be accepted at locations in Avon, Reading and Natick, Mass., Nashua, N.H., and Warwick, R.I. They should be new or like-new clothes without rips, stains or tears. Accepted items include pants, shirts, sweatshirts, new pajamas, new socks, new undergarments, sneakers and school shoes.

“We are so proud to be working together with Cradles to Crayons,” said Eliot Tatelman, president and CEO of Jordan’s Furniture. “They run an incredibly impressive and efficient operation, ensuring the dignity of children and families they serve.”

Brighton, Mass.-based Cradles to Crayons was founded in 2002 and provides children from birth to 12 years old, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need at home, school and play. Items are distributed to the children via social service agencies such as MSPCC, Horizons For Homeless Children and Head Start Programs.

“It is so important for every child to feel important and worthy,” said Tatelman. “By working with the team at Cradles to Crayons, we hope to do our part in helping area children get ready for school and be prepared to learn. We know that our donation drive made an impact during the past two years. We hope for the same success this year.”
